Ground School Classes

Private Pilot Ground School

This excellent course will teach you about becoming a Private Pilot as well as prepare you for the Private Pilot Oral and Written exams.  The highly-regarded Jeppesen Guided Flight Discovery syllabus is used in this course.  Tuition and all required materials cost is $425.  Whether you have started your flight training or want to check out ground school to see what it's all about, this course is for you.

FAA Testing

Executive Flight Center is an Authorized CATS Testing Center.  Testing is available to walkins 7 days a week from 8am til 7pm.  The cost of each exam is only $80.  Other times available by appointment.  Call 256.828.1403 to schedule your exam.

Our on-site examiner, Clyde Shelton, is available 7 days a week when you are ready to schedule that checkride.  Schedule that appointment with him by phone at 256.829.0642 or drop by his office in our facility.

A complete selection of training materials from Jeppesen, Gleim, the FAA, Bill Kershner, and a wide variety of additional specialty authors is available in our pilot shop.  Stop by and take a look at what is on the shelf.  If you don't find it here, we can easily and quickly order what you need.

Garmin 430/530 IFR GPS Training

Learn to use the Garmin 430/530 IFR GPS with the following Garmin tools:

We do have the simulator installed on the FBO computer for your use, great for preparing for or reviewing a lesson with your instructor.

IACRA
When you're ready for that check ride, visit the FAA's Integrated Airman Application and/or Rating Application http://acra.faa.gov/iacra/.  IACRA is an online tool available to designated pilot examiners, instructors, and students for filling out, submitting, and approving airman applications online. Pilots are issued a unique code so that only their instructor and examiner can review the application.
